New to the Buckley Lab – Masters student Blaise Dhont

Author: Blaise Dhont

I’m currently completing my masters degree in Environmental Sciences and Engineering, specialising in Natural Water, Soil and Ecosystems Engineering at EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland). As part of the completion of my masters thesis, I am working on a project with Dr. Yvonne Buckley for one semester.

I’m working on the issue of naturalised Slash pine (Pinus elliottii, hydrids and varieties) in south-east Queensland. The aims of the project are to map the occurrence of planted and naturalized population, establish characteristics of invaded native habitats in order to determine the attributes of invaded areas & develop a risk assessment that will allow to the identification of potential areas threatened by Slash pine. Management solutions will be finally suggested.
